Meijiawu Tea Village
Meijiawu Tea Village is situated on the west of West Lake. Once it was only a poor village until the local farmers got start to plant tea. It becomes one of the Four Famous habitats for Longjing (Well Dragon) Tea.
Documents said that Premier Zhou Enlai took tea planting here so important that he had visited Meijiawu 5 times to inspect the tea production. The premier’s action also stimulated the local farmers enthusiasm and confidence in tea planting. When you get there, you can see the dense tea trees there.
Generally speaking, now it’s a recreational place for the local people to have a break during their weekends.
